ASTANA. January 10. KAZINFORM /Dina Yermaganbetova/ - Kazakhstan supports application of Belarus on entry into the Shanghai Collaboration Organization (SCO) as an observer, Speaker of Kazakhstan Senate Nurtai Abykayev has told at today's meeting with the Chairman of National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Gennady Novitsky.Having noted Kazakhstan plays an important role in the SCO, G. Novitsky made a request to back initiative of Belarus. In his turn N. Abykayev stressed Kazakhstan will provide necessary support in this question.
As it was reported earlier Belarus submitted the application on entry into the SCO in December 2005. Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are the present members of this organization.
