Hungary Prepared To Ride Out Oil Dispute

Hungary's Economy and Transport Minister on Monday said that Hungary's energy security would not be affected by the oil dispute between Belarus and Russia.

Oil supplies from the Russian Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline to Western Europe were cut off earlier in the day by the Belarusian government because of price dispute with Moscow.

Janos Koka said that the nation's oil reserves would be released if oil did not begin to flow through the pipeline again tomorrow.

However, Hungarian energy giant MOL said that Hungary had 90 days of reserves to draw on, and that it did not expect the dispute to lastt for very long.
