RF-Belarus union state parliamentary assembly for improving ties

MOSCOW, January 10 (Itar-Tass) - Deputies of the parliamentary assembly of the Russia-Belarus Union State urged the presidents and prime ministers of the two countries "to immediately take steps for normalizing Russian-Belarussian relations."

They offered to hold an extraordinary meeting of the supreme state council of the Union State shortly "in order to solve current problems and take concrete steps, which ensure the effective cooperation between the economies of our countries," Prime-Tass reported.

Meanwhile, the deputies offered "to hold this year a referendum on the Constitutional Act of the Union State, which will lay the foundations for further integration in interests of the peoples, which are historically linked with each other."

The deputies believe that "it is not too late to change the situation and continue progress to the major goal - the creation of the Russia-Belarus Union State."
