airBaltic to open direct flights to Gomel

Starting on 26 March this year, Latvian airline airBaltic is to open direct flights to the Belarusian city of Gomel. This will be the airline's first new route in 2007 and the second direct flight to Belarus.

- This year airBaltic will continue to develop its eastbound flight network. The flight to the second-largest city in Belarus, Gomel, is the first of more than ten new routes we plan to open this year. Moreover, airBaltic is the first foreign airline to carry out flights to two cities in Belarus," said airBaltic president and CEO Bertolt Flick.

To begin with, airBaltic will operate direct flights to Gomel three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Flights to Gomel will be operated by a Fokker-50 aircraft and will take 1 hour 50 minutes. One-way ticket prices will start at LVL 49 including airport fees.

airBaltic already offers regular direct flights from Riga to the Belarusian capital, Minsk. Flights from Riga to Minsk depart every day except Saturdays.
