VN, Belarus security ministers signed law enforcement pact

Ha Noi - The public security ministries of Viet Nam and Belarus will enhance bilateral relations and co-operation after signing a ministerial level agreement yesterday.

In a meeting with General Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, Belarusian Interior Minister Naumov Vladimir expressed his pleasure at the achievements made by Vietnamese over the years, and the Ministry of Public Security's contribution to national security and protection.

The two sides informed each other of the countries' respective socio-economic situations, and national security and social order issues. The officials also discussed regional and world issues of mutual interest.

Viet Nam and Belarus have a great opportunity to combat organised and transnational crimes, international terrorists, and drug traffickers. For this reason, the two sides will improve co-operation in law enforcement through yesterday's agreement.

The Belarussian delegation plan to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and hold working sessions with some police units in Ha Noi and HCM City. - VNS
