Belarus Stresses Peaceful Solution of Iran's N. Case

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergey Martynov here on Saturday underlined the need for the settlement of Iran's nuclear case through talks.

Speaking to reporters during a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki, he noted Iran's membership in the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and reiterated the Islamic Republic's right to make peaceful uses of the nuclear energy similar to other NPT member states.

Recommending Iran's counterparties in the nuclear case, including the Untied States, to resume talks with Tehran, Martynov underscored the point that negotiation is the only correct solution to the problem.

He also stated that Minsk is enthusiastically waiting for an upcoming visit to Belarus by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
