Iran-Belarus underline economic cooperation

In a meeting between visiting Belarussian foreign minister with Iran's minister of industry and mining the two sides underlined expansion of economic cooperation.

Iranian Minister Ali-Reza Tahmasbi said political relations between the two countries have been in a high level in the past years and there has been a great deal of efforts to take economic ties to the level of political one.

Referring to the implementation of Samand car production project in Belarus, Tahmasbi called it a symbol of cooperation between industry sectors of the two countries and proposed establishment of industry committee between the two countries.

Belarussian Foreign Minister Sergey Martynov, for his part, said, "My purpose in this trip has been promoting economic cooperation level to the level of political ties."

Referring to the agreements reached in the Belarussian president visit to Iran and also agreements with Belarussian minister of industry, Martynov added the aim of this trip is to find ways to implement the approved agreements.

He said Belarus is a producer of heavy and middle-weight mine machinery with capacities between 30 to 130 tons, which can be used in Iran's mines.
