Belarus imposes customs duty for oil transit

MINSK, January 3 (Itar-Tass) - The Belarussian authorities have decided to impose a customs duty for oil pumped via the republic's territory as of January 1, 2007, Belarussian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky said on Wednesday.

A customs duty will total 45 U.S. dollars per one tonne of oil.

He pointed out that the Belarussian Economics Ministry and the customs committee are instructed to inform the Russian Economic Development and Trade Ministry and Russia's Transneft oil company on the measures taken.
