The Republic of Moldova will be exempted from paying the rent for the land on which the office of the Moldovan Embassy in Minsk will be built. The Governments of Moldova and Belarus will sign a bilateral agreement. The accord was approved by the Moldovan Government on Thursday.
Under the draft agreement, the Government of Moldova will be exempted from paying the rent of US$87,400 a year for a plot of land of 0.29 hectares granted for 49 years for building the office on.
Also, the Belarusian Embassy in Chisinau will be exempted from paying the rent of US$1,600 a year for the plot on which the Embassy is located. The plot is 0.29 hectares in area and is situated on Alexei Mateevici Street.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan, this agreement is beneficial to Moldova as it allows saving a considerable amount of money.
The Moldovan Embassy in Minsk works in a leased building.
