Belarus and China to carry out multimillion investment projects, president says

The Belarusian-Chinese cooperation has reached a new level - multimillion investment projects have appeared, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on January 19 as he accepted credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Lu Guicheng, BelTA has learnt.

The new joint projects will allow the Belarusian economy to make an impressive start and the Chinese economy - to demonstrate its successes and achievements in the centre of Europe, the Head of State noted.

"We are proud of our cooperation with the People's Republic of China," the Belarusian President said. We have a constructive political dialogue between the leaderships of both the countries; we expand the trade, economic, credit-investment and scientific-technical cooperation, the head of state added.

In 2008, the Belarusian-Chinese trade almost reached $2 billion. "We hope that the growth of the mutual trade and the mutual interpenetration of the economies will be preserved in the future," the Belarusian President underscored.
