Cuban delegation arrives in Belarus to discuss bilateral relations

MINSK, January 26 (Itar-Tass) - A delegation of the Cuban Foreign Ministry headed by the deputy foreign minister Dagoberto Rodriguez has arrived in Belarus to discuss bilateral cooperation.

According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the sides intend to discuss the development of inter-state relations and ways of stepping up bilateral ties and coordinate cooperation plans in various spheres. Special attention will be paid to trade and economic cooperation.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry reports that the volume of reciprocal trade with Cuba has increased by 145.4 percent to reach $49.2 million in the first 11 months of 2008 compared to the same period in 2007.

Belarus exports buses, tractors, trucks, internal combustion engines and potash fertilizers to Cuba and imports vaccines and raw sugar.
