BELGRADE -- Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said the rumors that Hague fugitive Ratko Mladic is receiving medical treatment in Belarus are not true.

According to daily Vecernje novosti, Dacic said in Belgrade on Sunday that all information on Mladic and fellow fugitive Goran Hadzic is being checked and investigated in detail, adding that none of the recent information has led to any news on their whereabouts.

Jovan Stojic, cabinet chief of intelligence agency BIA Director Sasa Vukadinovic, told the daily that many citizens have called since the new rewards for the arrest of the Hague fugitives were released and a number was given for people to give anonymous tips.

He said that all information received from the 9191 hotline is checked, and added that there is a unit of BIA which is looking for Mladic and Hadzic, investigating the validity of all information in detail.

Stojic added there are calls that are malicious, trying to steer the search in the wrong direction, but also those where "informants" are accusing friends or neighbors of being the fugitives' helpers, or disguised fugitives themselves.
