Belarus is not ready to recognize independence of the separatists

According to the chairman of the International Affairs and CIS Relations Commission of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian Parliament Sergei Maskevich in 2009 Belarus was not ready to discuss the issue of independence of Abkhazia and so-called South Ossetia.

According to him, perhaps, the Parliament of Belarus in 2010 either will not be ready to discuss this issue. According to Maskevich, issues that will have an impact on the fate of the entire region cannot be solved hurriedly and MPs should get maximum information in connection with the recognition of Abkhazia and so-called South Ossetia.

Although Maskevich did not rule out that the Belarusian parliament would discuss these issues at the spring session, which opens on April 2nd.
