Azerbaijan plans to produce some 1,5 thousand tractors

The Ganja Automobile Plant plans to produce about 1.5 thousand tractors in 2010, according to sources in the plant.

"In 2009 the factory produced 670 tractors and this year we plan to bring the production of cars to 1,5 thousand units," said the representative of the plant.

He also said that in 2010 the Automobile Plant plans to begin producing cars in Nakhchivan together with the Chinese Lifan producing passenger cars.

"The car assembly will be undertaken in accordance with the agreement signed between Ganja Automobile Plant and the Chinese Lifan. Initially it was planned to build 100 Chinese-brand cars in Nakhchivan, while further if the market justifies itself, the production of vehicles may increase," he added.

The Ganja Automobile Plant has been functioning since December 2004. Since 2006 it has been organizing the assembly of all types of trucks and tractors of Belarus production in Ganja.
