Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko was sworn in yesterday in a ceremony boycotted by western ambassadors who claim his re-election last month was rigged.
The former Soviet republic has dismissed criticism of the elections, which sparked protests and hundreds of arrest.
"The people have spoken:Their choice is sacred and undisputable," Mr Lukashenko said. "The 'colour revolution' virus only strikes weak countries."
