Heir Apparent attends Military college event

HH the Heir Apparent and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday attended the graduation ceremony of the 6th batch of Ahmed bin Mohamed Military College.

The ceremony which was held in the college campus, was also attended by the Assistant to the President of Belarus for National Security Viktor Lukashenko and a number ministers and senior officers of the armed forces and the Interior Ministry in addition to a number of senior officials of military colleges of friendly countries.

The band played the Qatari National Anthem as the Heir Apparent took the salute during a parade by the graduates.

Commander of the College Brigadier Hamad Ahmed Ali al-Noaimi gave a speech in which he welcomed the HH the Heir Apparent and the Armed Forces Deputy Commander in Chief Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

The ceremony marked the passing out of the sixth batch which included 75 cadets of whom 43 are from the armed forces, 20 from the interior ministry and three from the state security organ.

He explained that the new cadets completed the syllabus, training and examinations, adding that the batch will herald the start of co-operation between Ahmed bin Mohamed Military College and Sandhurst Royal Military Academy in the United Kingdom and also the first batch to be taught the syllabus of the Sandhurst academy.

Later, HH the Heir Apparent honoured the outstanding graduates of the batch and unveiled the college's new education building.
