CSTO Secretary General to meet Lukashenko in Belarus

MOSCOW. Nikolai Bordyuzha, CSTO Secretary General, will inform Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, about preparations for the next extraordinary session of the Collective Security Council, the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) has advised Kazakhstan Today.

Today Mr. Bordyuzha has departed for Belarus on a working visit. On the eve of the visit he states that "it is a scheduled visit during which I will meet the President of Belarus, Defence and Foreign Ministers of Belarus, and the acting State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus. The situation in the CSTO responsibility area, preparations for the next extraordinary session of the Collective Security Council, and prospects of the CSTO development are planned to be discussed."

The CSTO Secretary General has noted that "today there are a lot of issues within the CSTO that must be discussed with the Belarusian government, especially taking into consideration the fact that the next CSTO session during which the CSTO chairmanship will be passed to the Belarusian side will be carried out in Minsk."

Mr. Bordyuzha also plans to visit Tajikistan and Kazakhstan in the first half of March.
