Ferrero-Waldner on further step towards new EC delegation in Belarus

"I am pleased to hear, that President Lukashenko authorized Deputy Foreign Minister Voronetsky to sign the establishment agreement for a European Commission Delegation in Belarus. This is a further step towards the opening of the delegation, and I hope it will open soon.

The aim of this new delegation will be to reinforce our presence in Belarus, allowing us more direct contacts with Belarus society at large and to adopt better our cooperation to the needs of the Belarus population."
