Russia interested in setting up Belarusian assembly productions on its territory

Russia is interested in the establishment of Belarusian assembly productions on its territory, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told reporters as he visited Lidselmash on February 10, BelTA has learnt.

"Russia, just like us, is interested in setting up productions, or at least, assembly productions of our machinery. All countries do it this way. Some CIS member states have already established milk-processing productions," the head of state said.

"Let us assume that Moscow wants to set up an assembly production, and then probably the production of MAZ machinery. Then it may start assembling tractors," Alexander Lukashenko said. The specialists of the necessary qualification and ready conveyors make it possible to launch the assembly production right away, the President added.

The Belarusian leader underlined that the global crisis pushes for more vigorous actions.
