The Ambassador Vladimir Drazhin: Belarus is striving for Lithuania to become for its gate to Europe

Belarusian Ambassador to Lithuania Vladimir Drazhin: Lithuania is a very important partner for Belarus and it would like to gain experience from out country in the installation of new technologies in stock-raising, plant-growing and mechanization, said the Ambassador at the meeting with Agriculture Minister Kazys Starkevicius on Wednesday.

The Ambassador Drazhin pointed out to minister Starkevicius that Belarusian farmers are interested in new technologies related to the production of feed and procession of grain.

"Our specialists have visited many Lithuanian grain processing companies and evaluate them very well. We produce a lot of milk (last year 6.5 million tonnes) and meat (about 1 million tones), therefore it is highly important for us to install state-of-the-art product procession technologies, so that our products comply with the EU requirements and we can enter its market. Lithuania could be a perfect gate to Europe for us," ambassador Drazhin said at the meeting.

He underlined that Belarus appreciates the sharing of experience between the food and veterinary, plant protection institutions in the two countries, which is very useful to Belarusian specialists.

The agriculture minister pointed out that the science and training as well as farmers" self-government institutions in the two countries could be cooperating much closer too.
