Iran, Belarus sign MoU on economic cooperation

TEHRAN, Feb. 16 (ISNA)-Iran and Belarus signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) on commercial, economic and customs in their 9th joint economic commission meeting held in Belarus.

During Iranian Minister of Commerce Masoud Mir Kazemi's meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky, the two sides agreed on providing required goods for the two countries and other regional states.

Some 70 Iranian merchants, businessmen and representatives of private sector have accompanied Mir Kazemi during the trip.

The two sides also agreed discussing ways for monetary and banking exchanges, car tariffs, setting up of joint companies for taking part in international bids and establishing bilateral credit lines to pave the way for commercial transactions.

Mir Kazemi also paid a visit to Iran-Belarus co-financed bank "Capital Trade" carrying out commercial and banking services and Belarus' Maz heavy machines factory.

The two officials have reached agreements on private sectors' presence in both countries and establishment of joint companies for active presence in regional market.

Iranian companies are fueling money into big projects in Belarus such as establishment of business and commercial centers, hotels and road-building.

Mir Kazemi also held talks with Belarusian Minister of Industry to draw up the document of the 9th economic commission. During the meeting the two sides expressed willingness to expand commercial ties, promote private sectors and employment of their infrastructures to get access to new markets.

The two countries also inked an agreement according to which Iran's private sector will build Minsk Commercial Center and an Iranian company will export nuts and foodstuffs to Belarus.
