Belarus, Lithuania to facilitate visa regulations in border zone in March

This March Belarus and Lithuania plan to sign an agreement to enable visa-free travels for tourists in the 50-kilometer zone along the state border, Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Cheslav Shulga told a press conference in Minsk on February 26.

The official remarked, the measures are necessary to essentially increase the export of tourism services. It is necessary to minimise formalities, which worsen the access to Belarus for tourists. To make it happen, it is necessary to facilitate visa procedures for third-country citizens, who are willing "to go sight-seeing in Belarus within 24 hours".

Once the facilitated visa regulations in the border zone are in place, the Sports and Tourism Ministry intends to offer an additional tourism product in the border zone in order to attract foreign tourists, reported Belta.
