Belarusian parliamentarians invite Venezuelan colleagues to visit country

The National Assembly of Belarus has sent an invitation to the parliamentarians of Venezuela to pay an official visit to Belarus, BelTA has learnt from the House of Representatives' permanent commission for foreign affairs and links with the CIS.

The Parliament of Venezuela is a one-chamber body. The invitation signed by the speakers of the two houses of the Belarusian parliament has been sent to the Chairman of the National Assembly of Venezuela. The invitation reads that the Republic of Belarus is sincerely interested in further development of Belarusian-Venezuelan strategic partnership. Parliamentarians of the two countries can play a big role in expanding all-round cooperation. Inter-parlaiemtnary relations will be brought onto a new level and will become more dynamic.

Inter-parliamentary cooperation in the relations between the two countries is aimed at advancing the interests of Belarus in Latin America. The National Assembly of the fourth convocation has set up a working group for cooperation with the parliament of Venezuela.

The parliamentary commission said that remaining valid are around 50 invitations to more than 35 countries and several inter-parliamentary organisations which have been sent by the House of Representatives of previous convocations. A delegation of the PACE committee for political affairs is expected to visit Belarus in February this year. A parliamentary delegation of Armenia will come over to Belarus this year for the third session of the inter-parliamentary Belarusian-Armenian commission.
