Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Germany to shoot film about Chornobyl

Film companies from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Germany will shoot a feature film entitled "On Saturday" on the theme of the Chornobyl disaster.

Aleksandr Mindadze will be the scriptwriter and director of the film, the press service of Ukraine's film company has reported.

In particular, the following film companies will take part in production and financing of the film: Passenger (producer Dmitri Efremov, Russia), SOTA Cinema Group (producer Oleh Kohan, Ukraine), Non-Stop Production (producer Oleksandr Rodniansky), and Belarusfilm Film Studios (the Republic of Belarus), Bavaria Film (managing director Matthias Esche, Germany).

The shooting will take place in Ukraine and Belarus in the spring and summer of 2010. The film's production budget will total about EUR 3 million.
