Belarus increased production of vegetable oils in 2009

In 2009, production volumes of vegetable oils in Belarus totaled 74.12 thsd tonnes, an increase of 42.7% compared to the level of 2008 period, declared the National statistics committee of Belarus (Belstat).

In the reporting period, the concern Belgospischeprom produced 27.87 thsd tonnes of vegetable oils (up 30.4% compared to the level of 2008), the enterprises subordinated to oblast executive committees of the country - 18 thsd tonnes (up 60.9%), the enterprises subordinated to city executive committees - 4.55 thsd tonnes (up 36%).

The enterprises of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food also produced 6.08 thsd tonnes of vegetable oils, up 3.2 times compared to the level of 2008, juridical entities without the departmental affiliation increased the output by 24.9% - to 17.61 thsd tonnes.

In 2009, Belarus produced 3.83 thsd tonnes vegetable oils (down 0.1% compared to the level of 2008) from customer-supplied raw materials.

The share of bottled vegetable oils from the general volume of produced oils totaled 12.14 thsd tonnes, down 31.9% compared to the index of 2008.

According to the Statistics committee, as of January 1, 2010, reserves of vegetable oils totaled 884 tonnes (or 14.3% of the average monthly production volumes).
