Belarus ratifies protocol on duty-free crude supply from Russia

MINSK, February 12 (Itar-Tass) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko approved the protocol amending the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on crude and petroleum product exports, a source in the Belarusian presidential press office told Itar-Tass.

"The presidential ordinance expressed the Belarusian approval of the protocol. Belarus and Russia have accomplished the national ratification procedures on time," the press office said.

Russia's Federation Council ratified the protocol on the duty-free delivery of crude for internal consumption in Belarus earlier in the day, following its ratification by the State Duma.

The Federation Council held a special session to ratify the protocol because the ratification process must be complete before February 15.
