As Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov told a press conference in Kyiv today, he intends to raise the issue of lifting restrictions on importing sugar from Belarus and Moldova at the Cabinet's next session.
We will not command prices, but will likely open our borderline to sugar from these countries as our sugar producers fail to meet their obligations, Mr Yekhanurov noted. As he said, Ukrainian sugar market operators have some time at their disposal to think the matter over.
