Azerbaijan Strengthen Activities to Establish Single IP-Main between West and East

Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 March /TrendCapital/ Azerbaijan strengthens its activities to establish a single IP-main between the West and East to liquidate digital ruptures. Azerbaijan's Minister of Communications & Information Technologies, Ali Abbasov, recently made a visit to Minsk to hold discussions with the senior officials and suggested the Belarusian side to participate in creating the single IP-main, the Ministry reported.

It was stated in Minsk that realizing the project on construction of the main from Hungary and Bulgaria to China via Caucasus and Middle Asia, which connects 15-20 countries may positively affect the development of the region. Belarus, which is located near West, may become significant part of this main with its large territory.

The sides stated during the discussions that if other countries support the project, the region may transform into a developed region in the IT sphere and it will be possible to compete with the West in this sphere.

To join the project, Belarus is required to present its fibre optic network, ensuring privilege tariffs and join devising the contents and information exchange.

In August a constituent conference is expected to be held in Baku with the participation of the countries wishing to join this project and several international organizations.
