Russia will transfer $500 Mln to Belarus after budget review - Kudrin

MINSK. March 20 (Interfax) - Russia will soon disburse another tranche of $500 million out of its $2 billion stabilization loan granted for a period of 2008-2009, said Russia's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin.

"Soon we will allocate another $500 million after reviewing our budget," said Kudrin, opening a joint session of the Belarusian and Russian Finance Ministry collegiums in Minsk on Friday.

Other sources of helping Belarus are also being discussed, he said.

Over the last eighteen months the amount of credit resources granted to Belarus by Russia totaled $3 billion, including $1.5 billion in late 2007, and another $1.5 billion in two tranches in late 2008 and March 2009, the Russian finance minister recalled.

The source of these funds is the reserve fund that Russia created earlier, Kudrin said.
