BRUSSELS, March 11 (Reuters) - The EU external relations commissioner will postpone a visit to Belarus planned for this week due to scheduling problems, her office said on Wednesday.
Benita Ferrero-Waldner had said on Monday that she would visit Minsk on Friday. A statement from her office said the trip would now be delayed until mid-April.
"It's due to scheduling problems, nothing political," her spokeswoman Christiane Hohmann said.
Ferrero-Waldner has said Belarus, which is trying to end its international isolation over accusations of human rights violations and electoral abuses, must carry out more political reforms before the European Union can agree to closer ties. (Reporting by David Brunnstrom; Editing by Angus MacSwan)
