Development of dialogue to highest level between Belarus and Azerbaijan to be discussed

Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Azerbaijan at the level of deputy ministers will be held in Baku from 29 to 31 March, the press service of Foreign Ministry of Belarus told BelTA.

The Belarusian side will be represented by the first deputy minister Igor Petryshenko.

The consultation is planned to coordinate positions of the sides regarding the status and key directions in the development of relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan, including the development of dialogue at the highest levels, the issues of interaction within international organizations, expansion of legal base.

Belarusian-Azerbaijani trade turnover in 2009 amounted to $ 124.6 million and increased by 11.6% compared with 2008, export - $120.3 million (an increase of 14,1%), import - $ 4.3 million (decreased by 31.1%).

Belarus mainly exports to Azerbaijan the products of mechanical engineering, woodworking, industrial consumer goods, food products.

The export from Azerbaijan includes agricultural products and raw materials (fruit and vegetable juices, spirits, tobacco, nuts, fabrics of synthetic filament yarn).
