Belarusian agro industrial complex to increase productivity

Belarusian agro industrial complex needs to increase productivity of plant growing and animal breeding industries in order to enlarge competitive ability of agricultural products, declared Ivan Bambiza, the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, on March 3.

According to the Vice Premier, to date, expenditures for production of agricultural products in Belarus needs governmental support for cost recovery. At the same time, I.Bambiza marked the necessity of the reduction of the state charges and increasing of product qualitative parameters.

As an illustration, the Vice Prime-Minister showed the example of flaxseed industry of Belarus. Due to the low productivity of flaxseed growing fields, Belarus fails to support the stable work of the flaxseed complex. According to I.Bambiza, the potential of flaxseed yield in Belarus totals 18-20 c/ha. But to date, the maximum yield index of the oilseed reached the level of 12 c/ha, the average yield totals 8 c/ha, taking into account the index of down crops.
