DCCI discusses enhancement of trade ties with Belarus and Tunisia

Mr. Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) yesterday received a trade delegation from Belarus headed by His Excellency Vasili V. Ramanau, Vice-president of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, accompanied by Mr. Vadim Senyuta, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the UAE.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Sultan Majid Lootah, Acting Director of Business Promotion Department in the DCCI.

Al Mutaiwee welcomed the delegation and briefed them about the role played by the DCCI in enhancing Dubai's economy. He also spoke of the strategic location of Dubai as a regional business hub helping companies and investors in the emirate to be well introduced to international markets.

He encouraged the Belarusian delegate to open a commercial representative office in Dubai and to effectively participate in the regional and international trade exhibitions organized in Dubai every year.

His Excellency Vasili V. Ramanau, Vice-president of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed that his visit to the DCCI would help enhance bilateral trade relations between Belarus and Dubai.

Mr. Sultan Majid Lootah, Acting Director of Business Promotion Department in the DCCI, received a Tunisian trade delegation headed by Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Jandawi, Director General of Joint Professional Complex of Crops in Tunisia.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Husni, Director of the Tunisian Trade Mission in Dubai, Mr. Mohammed Hassan El Khatib, Business Development Manager in the DCCI, and a number of Dubai-based businessmen and members of the Foodstuff Trading and Fruits and Vegetables Market Traders business groups in Dubai that operate under the umbrella of the DCCI.

Mr. Lootah welcomed the Tunisian delegation stressing the DCCI's interest over supporting the activities of the business groups that represent a number of different economic sectors in Dubai, as well as the Dubai Chamber's readiness to extend assistance that would help enhance the bilateral trade between the Tunisian exporters and their counterparts in Dubai.

"The DCCI is very keen to play a key role as a significant link between all economic sectors and the government authorities in Dubai. The Chamber provides various services to exporters and importers, especially those involved in foodstuff and fruits trade. We are ready to coordinate and support the trade between the UAE and all other Arab countries, including Tunisia," said Lootah.

Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Jandawi, Director General of the Joint Professional Complex of Crops in Tunisia, praised the outstanding economic growth of Dubai and the importance of enhancing the bilateral trade ties between Dubai and Tunisia, as well as increasing the bilateral trade exchange and opening new markets in the GCC countries.

"Tunisia produces more than one million ton of fresh fruits per year which are mostly exported to Mediterranean countries and Europe, and we are keen to open new markets for our products in Dubai with the help of the DCCI through coordinating with the importers and exporters from both countries," said Mr. Al Jandawi.
