Three Ukrainians arrested in Belarus Chornobyl protests

Three Ukrainians were among those arrested in Chornobyl anniversary demonstrations in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

All three are reportedly members of the Studentske Bratstvo Student Brotherhood organization. They were participants in the Belarus opposition meeting called "Chornobylskey Shliakh." Several thousand demonstrators reportedly took part in the illegal public gathering, as police treated the event. The demonstration organizers were given 15 days in jail. The Ukrainians, including one minor, were reportedly promptly sent back to Ukraine via train. The political opposition to Belarusian multi-term President Aleksandr Lukashenka is expected to be back out on the streets on May 1st - International Workers parade Day.
