Jordan, Belarus discuss economic cooperation

Amman, Apr. 5 (Petra) Jordanian and Belarusian economic officials on Wednesday called upon businessmen and investors to crystallize a joint vision that could help develop economic and investment relations between the two countries.

During talks at Amman Chamber of Industry to discuss ways to build stronger economic ties, the two sides stressed the necessity to make use of the available investment opportunities in the two countries to help increase trade volume which is heavily in favor of Belarus.

Jordan imports U.S. $879 worth of goods from Belarus in 2005, whereas exports to the country were very low, according to sources from chamber.

The Belarusian economic delegation is on a visit to Jordan to take part in Iraq Reconstruction Exhibition, currently organized in Amman. They admired Jordan's economic achievements and its favorable investment climate.
