Milinkevich urges EU to pile more pressure on Lukashenko

The leader of the Belarus's opposition Alexandar Milinkevich called the European Union on Wednesday to step up the pressure against country's President Alexandar Lukashenko, agencies reported.
Milinkevich, who attends the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, said that although European integration should be the strategic objective of his country, the traditionally close relations with Russia should not be endangered.
In the meantime, Itar Tass agency quoted an anonymous source in Brussels, as saying that EU is considering imposing sanctions to Minsk as of the next week.
