Ericsson NT to Purchase JV MDC Velcom

Croatia's Ericsson Nikola Teska company has signed a contract with Belarus's leading GSM operator, JV MDC Velcom.

The contract is worth 241.76 million kuna and its realisation is planned by October 2007, Ericsson NT said.

The contract will enable the operator to expand its list of users to 3.5 million.

The contract is another step towards a tighter and quality cooperation between JV MDC Velcom and Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the company said. The two companies have for eight years been jointly contributing to placing Ericsson's modern computer and communications technology on the Belarus market.
