Ericsson Nikola Tesla Wins GSM Contract in Belarus

Ericsson Nikola Tesla says that it has signed a contract with the Belarus based GSM network operator, Velcom. The contract covers the infrastructure expansion and upgrade of the Velcom's GSM core network and BSS.

This will enable operator to serve 3,5 million users. The contract is valued at US$43.6 million and is due to be completed by the end of October 2007.

Zvonko Bicanic, Country Manager Ericsson Belarus, is very satisfied with the cooperation with Velcom and the recently contracted job: "I would like to sincerely thank the team that prepared this contract and expect that its realization will go smoothly."

Sweden's Ericsson owns 49% of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, with the rest held by investors and floated on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
