Belarus: Feasibility study for petrochemicals complex

The planning of a petrochemical complex in Belarus, including a cracker with an annual capacity of 250,000 t and downstream units for LDPE (150,000 t/y), PP (100,000 t/y) and MEG (100,000 t/y), has taken a long-awaited step forward. According to the news agency "BelTA", state-owned petrochemical company JSC Polymir (Navapolatsk; www.polymir.by), which has overall responsibility for the project, has called for tenders for a feasibility study on the project.

Potential participants include Russian petrochemical companies LukOil (Moscow; www.lukoil.com) and Russneft (Moscow; www.eng.russneft.ru) and China's Sinopec (Beijing; www.sinopec.com).
