Belarus's Lukashenko wraps up state visit to Viet Nam

Ha Noi - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko left Ha Noi yesterday, wrapping up his two-day official visit to Viet Nam.

Before leaving Ha Noi, the Belarusian President joined a friendly meeting with former Vietnamese students in Belarus and representatives from the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour, the Viet Nam War Veterans Association, the Viet Nam Women's Union, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and some universities in Ha Noi.

On behalf of the Vietnamese people, chairman of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong thanked Belarus for the effective assistance it gave Viet Nam during the country's struggles for national independence as well as current national construction and development.

Lukashenko conveyed his congratulations to the Vietnamese people for the achievements they have made during the country's renewal process and expressed his belief that the traditional friendship between Belarus and Viet Nam would continue developing. - VNS
