Belarus to resow over 8% of winter grain sowings

Belarus plans to resow over 8% of winter grains and nearly 27 of winter rapeseed sowing areas, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.

According to the operative data, agrarians plan to resow grains throughout nearly 111 thsd ha, winter rapeseed throughout nearly 109 thsd ha, declared representatives of the Ministry.

According to specialists of the Ministry, all oblasts of Belarus, except of Vitebsk oblast, have already completed the mass sowing campaign of early spring and leguminous plants. As of April 27, 2010, agricultural enterprises of the Republic of Belarus sowed early spring crops throughout 991 thsd ha, or 91% of the planned land areas.

Agricultural organizations of Belarus also provide the mass sowing campaign of flaxseed, sugar beet and maize. As of April 27, 2010, agrarians of Belarus provided the mass spring sowing campaign throughout 1.32 mln ha, or 55% of the planned areas.
