MINSK, April 29 (Itar-Tass) - Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Thursday Belarus and Ukraine have no plans to align against anyone.
"Somebody expresses concern over our relations. We have no plans to align against anyone," he said at the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovich, who began his visit to Belarus.
Belarus "does not want to get involved in resolving any geostrategic problems. This does not meet its interests as those of Ukraine as well, I think," he said.
"We need to organize our economy in order not to differ from those European states that have a common border with us. Ukraine faces a similar task," Lukashenko said.
"The two countries have to develop a certain roadmap and resolve all issues in the interest of the state and people," he said making reference to the European experience.
