Belarus to build potassium-processing plant

The Belarusian government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin and also accompanied by First Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Petrishenko, recently paid a visit to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.ru reported.

The delegation also comprised of several Belarus companies which included state oil and chemistry firm Belneftekhim, state-owned energy firm Belorusneft and Belarus automobile company manufacturer MAZ.

The delegation met with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

In the course of talks, Turkmen and Belarusian government officials agreed to build a plant to mine and process potassium in Turkmenistan.

The cost of the project s not disclosed yet but it was reported that fertilizer production plants can cost up to ˆ1 billion.
