Belarus to revoke its application to CIS Economy Court against RF

MINSK, April 6 (Itar-Tass) -- Belarus intends to revoke its suit from the CIS Economy Court against the Russian government about illegal customs duties for oil products.

“As things are now, Belarus will most likely file an application to the Economy Court asking to stop the proceedings of this case as we have received a note from Russia’s Foreign Ministry,” Belarus Minister of Justice Viktor Golovanov said.

The Russian side has confirmed its decision not to apply duties to all oil products supplied to Belarus, he said, “as the Belarussian side has fulfilled its promises to adopts and confirm the legal acts related to the Customs Union.”

In December of past year, Belarus ratified 17 intergovernmental agreements on formation of the United Economic Space and the bilateral Belarus-Russia agreement, which regulates cooperation in the oil market, as well as an agreement on sharing export duties on raw oil and oil products, he said.
