Agreement on friendship and cooperation to be signed during Belarus president's visit to Azerbaijan

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenka is arriving for official visit to Azerbaijan tonight at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev.

Diplomatic sources told APA Presdient Lukashenka will have official meetings on May 2-3. During the visit, the two heads of the state will conclude an agreement on friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus. The agreement will calls for building of mutual cooperation in political, economical, scientific-technical, ecological, information, military, humanitarian and other fields and assistance to the contacts of the citizens, state bodies and public organizations of the two states. It also stresses compliance with international law norms and principles, ensuring of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, not-interference in the affairs of other states, non-use of force threatening, peaceful solution of disputes, honoring of international commitments.

10 intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements are expected to be concluded during the visit. These documents will cover veterinary, phytosanitary, pension security, National Bank and other fields.

President Lukashenka is also to attend Belarus national exhibition in Baku.

Azerbaijan and Belarus have concluded 26 agreements. /APA/
