Lukashenko speaks on Russian-Belarusian Union State treaty

MINSK. May 29 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko sees difficulties in relations with Russia, which prove that the Union State treaty is being denounced.

"Why does one denounce the Union State treaty today? We wrote it with [first Russian President Boris] Yeltsin, but we ratified it and exchanged ratification agreements with current Russian President [Vladimir Putin]. This means that it was acknowledged and agreed that this was the right direction," the president said at a meeting with a delegation of the Siberian Federal District headed by Governor of the Krasnoyarsk territory Alexander Khloponin on Tuesday in Minsk.
