Belarus Petrochemical Company Targets Markets in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey

Minsk, 20 May. Belnaftakhim is chiefly targeting Russia, Ukraine, China, Poland and Turkey in its export supplies, Mikhail Asipenka, deputy chairman of the Belarusian petrochemical concern, said at a news conference in Minsk on Tuesday [20 May].

He said that the country's chemical and petrochemical companies are export-oriented. "By exporting products to more than 90 countries, the concern defines the level of foreign trade to a great extent," he noted.

The Belarusian chemical and petrochemical industries reported exports at 3.1bn dollars in 2007, which was 13 per cent of the country's total exports.

"Exports of fertilizers, artificial fiber, paint and varnish products have increased notably in money terms," Asipenka said. "Prices for caprolactam are also quite favourable in outside markets."
