Russia's Vester Group has opened its first supermarket in Belarus, marking its entry into the market. The store, located in the capital city of Minsk, required an investment of $3.6m. It covers an area of 4,600 sq m, and offers around 20,000 items.
The Vester Group operates over 50 stores across Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, and generated sales of $420m in 2007.
