Ukraine, Belarus to sign agreement on exchange of information about flights

Ukrainian Defense Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov will meet his Belarusian colleague Leonid Maltsev during his official visit to Belarus on May 18, and talks between the two countries' military delegations will then be held, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service reported on Monday.

The officials are planning to discuss regional security, the state and prospects for developing bilateral military cooperation, and share their experience in reforming and developing the armies of both countries.

During their talks, Yekhanurov and Maltsev are planning to sign an agreement between the defense ministries of Ukraine and Belarus on an exchange of information about aircraft flights and a clause on the system and mechanism for information exchange between the two ministries.

Ukrainian military delegates will also visit the Military Academy of Belarus in Minsk.

On May 19, the Ukrainian delegation, led by the defense minister, will attend the BelExpo National Exhibition Center to view the newest military equipment presented at the Milex-2009 International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery.

Yekhanurov is also scheduled to meet with Chairman of the State Military and Industrial Committee of Belarus Nikolai Azamatov.
