Belarus decreased food products exports by 8.7%
During January-March period of 2009, Belarus decreased food products exports by 8.7% compared to the same period of 2008 - to the level of 457.7 mln USD, imports - by 25.1%, to 352.7 mln USD, declared the National Statistical Committee.
The country decreased vegetable oils import volumes by 19.7 mln USD, groats - by 8.3 mln USD, according to the Committee.
In January-March of 2009, the share of food products in the general export volumes of Belarus totaled 11.2% as opposed to 6.3% in January-March of 2008.
During the first quarter, the share of food products in the general import volumes of the country totaled 5.9% (in the first quarter of 2008 - 5.4%).
